Open Access Data Centres (OADC) has proudly served as a strategic partner for the STEAM UP program (Science Technology Engineering Art & Mathematics) in Lagos, Nigeria, for three consecutive years. This mentorship program aims to inspire, motivate and guide young girls in pursuing studies and careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The STEAM UP program is specifically designed to connect aspiring female scientists in secondary schools with professional women working in STEM fields. By providing this opportunity, the program seeks to empower and encourage young girls to advance their careers in STEM. The project’s objectives revolve around three main goals:
• increasing the representation of women in STEM
• promoting gender equality
• enhancing STEM education and awareness
OADC is committed to supporting these objectives and fostering an environment where more women can thrive in STEM fields, promoting a more inclusive and diverse future.
