Open Access Data Centres (OADC) – A WIOCC Group Company, Africa’s fastest growing data centre company, is proud to announce the appointment of Sayuri Moodliar as the company’s new Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). Sayuri brings with her over twenty-five years of experience as a sustainability professional and infrastructure project finance lawyer, working with multinational corporations operating in Sub-Saharan Africa and across the globe.
As the new Head of ESG, Sayuri will spearhead the company’s efforts to integrate ESG principles into its operations, decision-making processes, and long-term strategies.
With a PhD in International Business and Environmental Governance from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as Masters Degrees in Environmental Management and International Business Law from the University of London, Sayuri possesses a strong academic foundation. Her expertise in environmental governance and international law provides her with a holistic perspective on the complex relationship between business, the environment, and society.
Prior to joining OADC, Sayuri held the position of Associate Director of Sustainability & ESG Strategy at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she served as a subject matter expert on ESG, sustainable finance, and energy infrastructure. Her consulting experience spans over a decade, working with various organisations to develop and implement sustainable strategies that drive positive environmental and social impact.
Sayuri’s diverse work experience includes roles as a Unit Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Ericsson, Managing Director of Uthlanga Environmental Consultants, Vice-President at Anglo American, and Group Manager for the Southern & East Africa Region at Nestlé. These positions have provided her with valuable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities associated with conducting business in Africa and driving sustainable development in different contexts.
